I was given the opportunity to take part in a 3-week student exchange programme that was organised between Swiss design school GBS (Gewerbliche Berufs- und Weiterbildungszentrum) and Newcastle College University Centre. During this time, I shadowed my exchange partner at her work placement where I worked on various design materials for clients including Aldi Suisse. This programme was able to develop my personal and professional skills massively:
_Quickly adjusted and adapted to a workspace that was unfamiliar; I had to work with software that was in German,
_Able to produce work to a high, industry standard,
_Cultural awareness,
_Self-reliance,
_Independence.
Since starting the job as an Associate in 2016, I have progressed through the company and have now become apart of the managerial team as a Shift Leader.
Main responsibilities in this role include:
_Ensuring that all staff are trained to the company’s standard that is suitable for a fast paced environment,
_Managing and handling cash,
_Overseeing and maintaining the highest standards of the pub at all times,
_Delivering excellent customer service and customer management and ensuring that they are fully satisfied with their service,
_Dealing with office administration.
